How it all started...
“I want you to go to the people that nobody else wants to go to.” These are the words that Moses Rodriguez, our founding Pastor heard the Lord speak to him one day in 1980. After asking the Lord what he wanted him to do after serving for years in the Free Methodist denomination Moses was working up on a ladder as an electrician (by trade) when he received an answer loud and clear in his sprit. After 35 years New Beginnings still exists by the grace of God and the power of the Holy Spirit.
When Moses heard these words he also received a scripture to confirm what he had heard the Lord say, Luke 4:18-19:
“The Spirit of the Lord is on me,
because he has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and
recovery of sight for the blind,
to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”

Expanding the vision...
From that day forward the ministry established Men’s and Women’s Rehabilitation homes for those that were addicted, homeless and broken. In 2010 the Lord moved upon Pastor Moses' heart again and the church relocated to the heart of Chino, California to serve not only those who struggle with addiction but also their families who needed to be strengthened through the church family in prayer and emotional support. As God has promised, he has sustained this “little church in the hood” and today you can find ministries like Boy Scout Troop #11 headquarters, skateKross and our most important service of the week, Friday Night prayer.
Where we are headed...
In 2012 Pastor Moses' son Tim Rodriguez was ordained as Senior Pastor. His wife Alicia and two grown children serve alongside him in the church. Pastor Tim enjoys teaching on Sunday mornings and leading the Friday Night Men’s Bible Study not to mention surfing with his son whenever possible. In 2016 Pastor Moses and Pastor Tim had the privledge of ordaining Gabriel Gutierrez who was saved at age 16 at New Beginnings in 1999 and graduated from the New Beginnings Men’s Rehabilitation home to then serve in our Youth Group. Today Pastor Gabriel is a Special Needs teacher in Pomona High School, offering guidance and HOPE to his many students. The entire staff at New Beginnings serve as volunteers so that the church can financially focus on the needs of the church building, church family and those in need.
The Lord has seen fit to sustain this church year after year and we will continue follow the Holy Spirit’s leading until He calls his Bride home to be with him.
